Powering Nigeria: Over 40% of Nigerians Now Enjoy 20 Hours of Daily Power Supply, Says Minister Adelabu

In a groundbreaking development, Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, announced that over 40% of Nigerians now enjoy a daily average of 20 hours of electricity. This remarkable progress is a direct result of innovative measures undertaken by the Ministry of Power, with strong backing from President Bola Tinubu’s administration as part of his “Renewed Hope” agenda.

The minister attributed this achievement to radical reforms in the energy sector, which have driven the country toward more reliable power. With the nation now generating over 5,500 megawatts of electricity, Adelabu noted that more improvements are on the horizon, fueling optimism for further growth by year-end.

“Stable electricity is the foundation for economic growth and industrialization,” Adelabu emphasized, underscoring that developed nations have built their prosperity on consistent and affordable power. In line with President Tinubu’s vision, the focus remains on empowering industries, institutions, businesses, and households with dependable electricity, paving the way for job creation and economic prosperity across the country.

Adelabu assured that through continued partnerships with power agencies, generation companies, and distribution companies, Nigeria is steadily marching towards a future where stable electricity becomes the norm. The efforts, backed by Tinubu’s advocacy, aim to ensure that the power sector remains a driving force in Nigeria’s industrial development.
