Wike revealed during a town hall meeting in Gwagwalada Area Council that informants providing crucial details to kidnappers have already been apprehended.

Addressing stakeholders and residents, the former Rivers state governor emphasized the commitment of the President to addressing the security challenges in the nation’s capital. Wike assured the community that the government would not abandon them in the face of criminal activities, particularly those related to kidnapping and banditry.

Wike stated, “The President has asked me to assure you that he will not abandon you. So, all these criminals, be ready. Your time is up.” He made it clear that decisive actions were underway, with arrests already made among those providing information to criminals operating in Abuja.

Expressing the seriousness of the government’s stance, Wike emphasized the need for collaborative efforts. He urged residents to provide information to security agencies, reinforcing that the fight against insecurity requires a collective approach. “Security agencies cannot do this work alone. They need information. When you give them information, they will work better,” he affirmed.

The minister outlined concrete steps to strengthen security measures, including the establishment of additional police divisions in Gwagwalada and the provision of more vehicles equipped with modern communication gadgets for police stations. He highlighted the urgency of these measures and assured that bureaucratic obstacles would not hinder their implementation.

Wike’s decisive actions and strong statements underscore the gravity of the security situation in Abuja and the determination of the government to curb criminal activities.
