IGP Orders Reopening of All Sealed LG Secretariats in Rivers After Fubara Swears in Elected Chairmen
In a swift response to ongoing political developments in Rivers State, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has issued an order for the immediate withdrawal of police personnel stationed to seal off the 23 local government areas in the state.
The directive, announced on Monday through a statement by Grace Iringe-Koko, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, follows shortly after Governor Siminalayi Fubara swore in the newly elected local government chairmen.
This latest move signals the restoration of full administrative activities in the affected local government secretariats across the state, easing political tensions and allowing the newly sworn-in officials to assume their roles effectively.
