Bobrisky Begged Me for ₦3M to Secure VIP Prison Section – Legal Drama Unfolds
Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has broken his silence on recent accusations involving social media influencer Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Falz revealed that Bobrisky had approached him earlier this year, requesting a whopping ₦3 million to secure a VIP section at the Correctional Centre amid his legal troubles.
This revelation comes on the heels of a legal letter sent by Falz’s legal team, Falana & Falana Chambers, to Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, demanding a retraction of alleged defamatory statements made against the rapper. The controversial Instagram post in question hinted that Falz had conspired with Bobrisky to manipulate the justice system by financially assisting him in securing a more favorable outcome for his legal issues.
In a letter dated September 26, 2024, Falz’s lawyer, Taiwo E. Olawanle, meticulously detailed the sequence of events, setting the record straight. According to the letter, Bobrisky reached out to Falz on May 4, 2024, seeking advice concerning charges related to the infamous Naira abuse case. However, instead of requesting legal counsel, Bobrisky reportedly asked for ₦3 million to bribe officials for a VIP prison stay.
“Falz firmly rejected the notion of any financial assistance,” the letter stated, further emphasizing that Bobrisky’s claims of needing to pay officials were unnecessary. Despite Falz’s refusal, Bobrisky persisted, lamenting that his lawyers had mishandled his case by advising him to plead guilty. Throughout the entire conversation, Falz made it clear that no financial help would be given.
The letter from Falz’s legal team also condemned the insinuations made by VeryDarkMan, particularly claims that Falz was involved in a homosexual affair with Bobrisky or that he was seeking a presidential pardon for the controversial personality. Falana & Falana Chambers are now demanding a public apology and retraction of these statements within 24 hours, threatening legal action if the demands are not met.
To further complicate matters, a viral video shared by VeryDarkMan included Bobrisky’s allegation that EFCC officers accepted ₦15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. While Bobrisky has since denied the bribery claims, the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into the accusation.
This explosive legal saga is far from over, and with all parties involved fiercely defending their reputations, more twists are bound to emerge. As the drama unfolds, the Nigerian public is left watching as the truth behind the accusations is gradually revealed. Stay tuned for the next chapter of this high-stakes legal battle.
