“You Sacked Me” – Emir Sanusi Fires Back at Ex-President Jonathan Over CBN Dismissal
In a dramatic exchange, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has directly responded to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s claim that he was merely suspended, not sacked, as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Sanusi, speaking at the launch of a book co-authored by him, firmly stated that Jonathan indeed sacked him, contrary to what the former president said earlier at the same event.
Sanusi, who exposed alleged corruption during Jonathan’s administration, maintained that his removal was a direct result of his whistleblowing. “My boss who sacked me… I was constructively dismissed,” Sanusi said, making it clear that despite the past, he holds no grudges against Jonathan.
This revelation adds fuel to the long-standing controversy surrounding the alleged missing $49.8 billion, further deepening the debate on corruption, leadership, and accountability in Nigeria’s governance.
