NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Lord After 17 Years on the Run

The long arm of the law has finally caught up with Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff, a 59-year-old international drug trafficker who had evaded arrest for 17 years while running a multi-billion naira drug empire. NDLEA operatives, backed by intelligence from Interpol and the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, tracked and arrested the fugitive at his hideout in Ojo, Lagos.

Global Drug Kingpin Brought Down

Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), made the shocking revelation in Abuja, detailing how the operation was executed.

“This is a major breakthrough. Ogbonnaya Kevin Jeff has been at the center of a massive drug trafficking syndicate, smuggling illicit substances across international borders and recruiting young Nigerians as drug couriers to South Korea. His network is responsible for the arrest of several Nigerians abroad on drug-related charges. His reign is over,” Marwa stated.

Inside the Criminal Empire

NDLEA had been investigating Jeff for years, collecting solid evidence of his operations. The arrest was long overdue, and when operatives stormed his hidden base at No. 3, Ibukunoluwa Taiwo Close, off LASU Road, Lagos, they uncovered shocking evidence, including:

Multiple Nigerian international passports belonging to different individuals, many with Korean visas.
Large quantities of illicit drugs stashed in a secret warehouse behind his house.
Documents and records linking him to money laundering through the importation of electronics and other goods.

The End of an Era of Criminal Enterprise

For nearly two decades, Jeff operated without fear, flooding international markets with hard drugs and wrecking countless lives. His downfall marks a major victory in the fight against drug trafficking, and the NDLEA has vowed to track down every last associate in his criminal network.

With this arrest, the message is clear—no matter how long criminals evade justice, the law will always catch up with them!
