Akon recently made a bold statement about Mike Tyson’s strength, attributing it to his Congolese heritage. He suggested that Congolese people possess extraordinary physical prowess, often capable of taking on gorillas barehanded.
“When Mike Tyson did his ancestry and found out that he’s a Congolese, I wasn’t shocked. Judging from his strength, I had always suspected it. Even if you just look at Mike Tyson, you’ll agree that he looks Congolese. He’s got a Congolese heart beating in his chest. There’s something about Congolese that most people don’t know and won’t believe me, but I’ll still say it. The Congolese kill gorillas with their bare hands, and this is why Mike Tyson was so strong. There was no man that could stand up to Mike Tyson in his prime. If you go to Congo, you’re gonna find a whole bunch of Mike’s over there. Congolese have got energy which is fearless and they’re conquerors who ain’t afraid of anything. Congolese will literally go toe-to-toe with a gorilla and win.”
Akon’s remarks were further amplified by a story involving Mike Tyson. Reportedly, Tyson once offered to pay a zookeeper $10,000 for the chance to tussle with a gorilla. The zookeeper declined the offer, not wanting to lock Tyson in a cage with a gorilla. According to Akon, the zookeeper was, in reality, protecting the gorilla from Tyson.
This anecdote underscores Akon’s belief in the extraordinary strength and fearlessness of Congolese people, with Mike Tyson as a prime example.
